New Airport To Be Built In the Albertine Region

Uganda is in preparations to construct a new airport in Uganda’s oil fields in the Albertine region

This was revealed in a meeting between President Museveni and the Chief Operating Officer of Universal Aerospace, South Africa, Mr. Doug Berry on Friday evening at State House Entebbe.

Mr. Berry told the President of the plans by the Universal Aerospace Company, to construct maintenance and repair of aircraft facilities in Uganda, re-launching of the Uganda Airlines.

He also reported that the Company would like to undertake uplifting of Soroti Flying School in Eastern Uganda with the sole aim of training international pilots.

Mr. Berry assured the President that Universal Aerospace has at the ready the necessary financial resources for the implementation of the identified projects in Uganda.

President Museveni assured Mr. Berry the Uganda Government’s support to the projects adding that the government will carry out all the necessary requirements to ensure that the projects are implemented.

In another development, the President also received Major Daniel York, founder and director of First Cause, an American-based Company.

President Museveni and Major York, who was accompanied by Captain Frank Musisi a Ugandan in the American Army and another official, Mr. T.K. Moffett, discussed a wide range of issues on the plans by the company to invest in the economic development of Uganda.

Mr. Museveni commended them for their interest to invest in the economic development of Uganda and also for coming physically to see what is pertaining in the country in order to set up their projects.

  1. Thats no news even Idi Amin had already realised and given a go ahead to construct an airport at Nakasongola
