FUFA Mourns South African Captain

itumeleng-khunen a show a show of solidarity, the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has extended its deep condolences to the South Africa Football Association (SAFA), football fraternity of South Africa, the National Team ‘Bafana Bafana’, Orlando Pirates, family and close relatives of goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa who was shot dead in Johannesburg on Sunday night.

The death of Senzo came as a shocker to the football world as he was involved in his club’s 4-1 win over Ajax Cape Town on Saturday night.
‘Losing such a brilliant player leaves a big void in South African football and Africa. We pray for the South African football fraternity to recover from the loss of Senzo Meyiwa’ said FUFA President Eng Moses Magogo.
South African police service say Meyiwa was fatally shot when armed men broke into the house where he was staying later that day.
The FUFA Chief Executive Officer Edgar Watson was equally shocked with the sad news about Senzo.

‘I’m very saddened by the news of the death of Senzo. As a former player, I know what Senzo’s teammates are going through right now. I feel extremely sorry the football fans in South Africa. They will need to keep strong in these trying times as they still have a long season ahead’ said FUFA CEO Edgar Watson.
