URA FC earned a 1-0 victory in an international friendly against Simba SC of Tanzania with a 1-0 win at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Friday evening.

URA FC, who will kick off their Premier League season next week against Vipers SC at Lugazi won the game through a Frank Kalanda 42nd minute goal off an Elukanah Nkugwa cross.

Coach Alex Isabirye treated the game cautiously introducing only three substitutes despite taking a big squad of 18 players.

Simba SC under Zambian coach Patrick Phiri, who inherited Zdravko Logarusic, won 2-1 against FC Kilimani, 2-0 and 5-0 against KMKM in Zanzibar and 3-0 Gor Mahia of Kenya.

URA: Brian Bwete, Simeon Massa, Alan Munaaba, Samuel Ssenkoomi, (Ronald Sekubomba 64’), Jonathan Mugabi, Oscar Agaba, Ali Feni, James Kasibante (Emmanuel Ngama 57’), Said Kyeyune, Elukanah Nkugwa (Augustine Nsumba 64) and Frank Kalanda.
