Uganda Cubs Vs Zambia
The national under-17 team the Cubs have departed Wednesday morning for Lusaka, Zambia to negotiate the first leg of the 2015 Africa youth championship final qualification.
Coach Matia Lule’s Cubs will be without Musa Mukalazi for the game after the midfielder picked up an ankle injury last week while Captain Andrew Okiring the US-based Carlisle High School student was ruled out the first leg, brought forward by a day to Friday, because of a tight academic schedule.
The team of 18 player and 6 officials led by FUFA’s head of women affairs, Mariam Kaliga have left Entebbe aboard flight KQ 411 at 10 a.m
They will have an hour’ s stop over at the Jomo Kenyatta Airport in Nairobi, Kenya before embarking on the journey for Lusaka where they are expected by 4 pm.
“The boys have been physically and mentally prepared for this away fixture, we expect a positive result come Friday”, head coach, Matia Lule told www.fufa.co.ug prior to the team’s departure at Entebbe.
After the Zambian game, the return leg will be held in a fortnight’s time at Namboole with the winner on aggregate qualifying for the finals of the African Youth Championships that will take place in Niger in January 2015.
