Former giants SC Villa are top of the 2014/2015 Uganda Premier League (UPL) after a convincing 2-0 win over Lweza FC on Friday.
Karim Ndugwa and Stephen Bengo’s goals helped SC Villa win at their new Mityana Stadium. The win took SC Villa to six points ahead of Police FC who have four points.
Head coach Stephen Bogere said that he is happy his boys played better in the second game of the season. Ndugwa took his goal tally to two goals after scoring in the team’s 1-0 win over Soana FC on the opening day of the League.
Army side Simba FC suffered a 1-0 loss to SC Vipers with Joseph Mpande scoring the late goal in the 89th minute. Jimmy Kakooza and veteran Anthony Bongole netted in Bright Stars’ 2-1 win over Soana FC. Rahumti Kajjimu scored the consolation goal.
In the other games played on Friday, newly promoted Sadolin Paints held URA FC to a goalless draw, while the match between SC Victoria University and Entebbe FC also ended goalless.
