Uganda’s First Lady, Janet Museveni has hailed the United States for support to The Elimination of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV/AIDS Campaign (EMTCT)

The First Lady said this after meeting the U.S. Ambassador to Uganda Scott DeLisi. They discussed how to sustain and make the EMTCT campaign more effective in Uganda.

‘Mother to Child Transmission of HIV/AIDS has been brought down by 70% since the EMTCT campaign was launched in Uganda,” the First Lady observed.

The EMTCT campaign is a brainchild of the First Lady with an aim of working with several leaders across Uganda to call on all parents to give their unborn children a chance to live a good life by eliminating the possibility of transmitting HIV to their unborn children.
