Early birds INATEK (Rwanda)the reigning men’s champion and Rukinzo men from Burundi arrived last night ahead of the 2014 showpiece of the NSSF KAVC International and now set to battled for honours this weekend.
The 18th edition of the Invitational volleyball tournament has been boosted by a Shs50m sponsorship, up from the previous Shs25m, by the tournament’s title sponsors National Social Security Fund.
The remaining foreign teams including former champions Kigali Volleyball Club (KVC ), new comers Rayon Sport and APR are expected from this evening according to a communication from the organizers.
Jeshi Stars is the other foreign outfit from Tanzania that has confirmed participation with a men’s side while other teams from Kenya and South Sudan are also in the fry.Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) is also likely to send a women’s team just like last year.
The Championship technical meeting is slated to commence at 6pm at the UOC headquarters Lugogo with accreditation of the teams and thereon the championship draws and fixture will be finalized. All teams must be represented physically to be eligible for enrollment.
