According to our colleagues at Villa Park, SC Victoria University attacking midfielder Serumaga is in talks to join record Uganda champions SC Villa.
The former Uganda Cranes star, who’s contract was reportedly terminated over disciplinary lessons early 2014, has been ot of the limelight and is hoping for a new challenge next season.
Coach Morley Byekwaso confirmed that the player was not present at pre-season and was instead negotiating with a then unknown club now believed to be SC Villa.
Meanwhile, presidential aspirant Emmanuel Ben Misagga is once again unopposed after his only opponent in the race, Dennis Mbidde, has technically been ruled out of the exercise due at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole, on July 26.
Mbidde failed to pay the sh10m commitment fee, which is mandatory for the club’s presidential candidates, before contesting the office. The deadline to deposit the money was last Friday but Mbidde hinted Tuesday that his camp was negotiating an arrangement with Misagga.
According to him, he would still pay the sh10m fee but still negotiate with the Misagga camp so he (Mbidde) becomes the new SC Villa president.
Our colleagues at our sister Luganda newspaper KAMUNYE,believe that Sserumaga’s signature alongside Zambian international Felix Sunzu and Lineker Mwikisa who play for Green Buffalos is imminent as Misagga plots to inject Shs 5Billion in player signings. Red Pepper Online edition is not in a position to confirm these reports.
