Uganda 0 – 0 Malawi
In a friendly match ahead of this weekend’s first leg of the 2015 Nations Cup pre-qualifiers, Uganda failed to score against second string visiting Malawi team at the Nelson Mandela Stadium.
Despite dominating Malawi, Micho Sredjevic’s team was unable to score in their last warm-up match three days before the home game against Mauritania. Geofrey Massa had the best chance fter failing to meet Iguma’s neat cross with only the goalie to beat in a match which was subject to a very poor fan out and an equally disastrous performance by the national team.
Even after Micho Sredojevic’s introduced six of his best players after the break in quick succession (Andy Mwesigwa for Kavugo, Moses Oloya for Ntege, Geoffrey Massa for Kiiza, Brian Majwega for Umony, Kizito Luwagga for Ochaya and Yunus Sentamu for Miya i), Uganda were unable to find a winning goal and the match ended goalless. Actually should the Cranes side fail to score at home on Saturday against Mauritania, their dream to Morocco 2015 could be checked as their poor travels are well documented.
Uganda faces Mauritania this Saturday on a day the national U-17 team will also be in action in an earlier fixture at 2pm against Rwanda wasps.
