It was a double loss over the weekend for Radio and Weasel who are trying to start a new life after firing their manager Jeff Kiwanuka.
Radio and Weasel’s collabo with Kenya’s Amaani, Kiboko Kyangu that was nominated in the Best Collaboration category but lost to Y-tjukutja a song by Uhuru Ft. Oskido, DJ Bucks, Professor and Yuri Da Cunha from South Africa.
Missing the award is a normal issue to them since they have missed winning many awards than they have won at international level.
The matter of controversy among people is to why the 2013 BET nominees failed to make it to MTV African awards ceremony yet their expenses were fully covered by MTV Africa.
Sources close to Radio and Weasel’s former manager Jeff Kiwanuka have revealed that the latter still runs the official emails and social media accounts of the former.
“Every international gig is still under Jeff. He has the passwords to their official emails. So all emails sent to them have to be read by Jeff first,” the source revealed.
This means that Jeff received the required travel documents via email but he did not hand them over to the dynamic duo.
The source further revealed that one of the Goodlyfe members known as Bushington was at the awards ceremony.
Failure by Radio and Weasel to attend the awards ceremony, MTV Africa has threatened to take action if a clear explanation is not presented.
Our highly placed sources at MTV Africa have revealed that Radio and Weasel are likely to be dropped from their list of recognized musicians on the African continent.
Jeff has also vowed to do whatever it takes to crush the Radio and Weasel brand since he is the one who worked tooth and nail for it.
The 2014 edition of the MTV Awards Africa was held on Saturday 07 June at the Chief Albert Luthuli Durban International Convention Centre Durban, South Africa and was hosted by US comedian Marlon Wayans.
