Police has arrested 30 suspects at Namugongo during the celebration of the Uganda Martyr day.
Pole Namaye, the Deputy Police Spokesperson said that the arrested persons were suspected of theft, being in possession of illegal drugs and substances like marijuana, and drunkenness.
Namaye notes that these suspects are currently being detained at Kira Police Post pending prosecution.
She however notes that the crime rate was minimal compared to arrests made in previous years.
Meanwhile, Sam Omala, the Kampala North Metropolitan Commander described the day’s event as totally peaceful with no negative forces and subversive people at the site.
Meanwhile a few people with health complications were referred to Mulago national referral hospital.
Kiwanuka Sarah Sonko, a Health Worker with Uganda Police Medical Services observed that although many complaints were lodged, majority of them were minor cases of headache and fever which were treated immediately.
