Uganda Cup Final
KCCA v URA (Mbale Municipal stadium)
Semi-final, second leg
Jinja Municipal 1 URA 0 (URA qualify 4-1 on aggregate)
Kampala City Council FC goalkeeper, Salim Jamal has promised to keep a clean sheet against Uganda Cup final opponents Uganda Revenue Authority.
The newly-crowned Uganda league champions will play rivals URA, who won the first leg 4-0 and lost 1-0 in the return fixture on Tuesday against JINJA Municipal Council, in the final on June 7 at Mbale Municipal stadium.
Jamal said he has taken extra training to ensure he frustrates any attempt at goal by the front men of the Lugazi-based side.
“I’ve prepared myself to keep a clean sheet against URA. I’ve even gone ahead on my own to take extra tutorial on how to guard the post and avoid any loose end,” said Jamal to Red Pepper.
Jamal said the derby game will be a test of their resolve to maintain the side’s status quo in the Uganda first tier.
“We’ve defended the league and going back to the champions league. By the way we want this double so badly and go down in history as the group that won Council its first double.
“Right now we’re not comfortable with our achievements so far, though the coaches have prepared us adequately to grab the trophy we’ve equally told ourselves that the double at stake are non-negotiable.
