Micho Sredojevic says he is pleased to see Uganda second choice goalkeeper Denis Onyango making progress on his road to recovery.
Onyango, who turns out for South African club Bibvest Wits also missed the Nedbank Cup final against Orlando Pirates last weekend, has been nursing an injury after getting 10 stiches to his forehead.
He missed the Cranes’ first leg clash away to Madagascar together with St George goalkeeper Robert Odonkara, who was also injured.
Onyango jetted in Uganda on Thursday is now part of the Uganda Cranes squad in Kampala which is currently preparing for the second leg 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar.
“It is very good seeing him back in training and we hope he can get back quickly to his fitness and be at the level he was for the national team. We are happy for him,” Micho said.
Micho’s side now need at least a 1-0 victory in the return at Namboole next Saturday if they are to progress to the final preliminary round of qualification to the 2015 Morocco Nations Cup.
