On-form Herman Wasswa scored his third goal in a row against a spirited SC Vipers as reigning champions extended their lead at the helm of the FUFA Super League.
Youngster Derrick Nsibambi opened the scoring early in the first-half (5th minute) battling his way bravely into the box to head in from off the high boot of a defender.
The celebrations continued two minutes later as the Kasisiro Boys fired again through Herman Wasswa.
Exciting Farouk Miya played a deft role in the third and final goal, floating a cross through from the edge of the box into the path of the waiting long skipper skipper Robert Kimuli, before hammering a header in from close range right past the helpless Salim Jamal and into the net in the 33rd minute.
The win further elevates KCCA to the top of the 16 team league table with 49 points in 24 matches while Vipers remain stuck in fourth place.
“We want to punish every team in the remainder of the season as we focus on keeping our position as champions at the end of the league. I am grateful to my players for playing according to instructions and if they continue like that, no doubt we shall be champions,” said KCCA coach George Nsimbe to www.fufa.co.ug after the match.
