FUFA Super League
Bright Stars 1 Proline 1
Entebbe 1 KCCA 0
Entebbe’s Nasser Muzamilu struck late to secure a 1-0 win over reigning champions Kampala City Council and maintain their FUFA Super League hopes as Proline’s survival bid was dented in a one-all draw away to Bright Stars on Tuesday.
Proline and Entebbe never disappointed their fans as they picked up results which they will surely look at in the next couple of weeks and judge for themselves-if they were valuable or not.
At Mutessa II stadium in Wankulukuku, Muzamilu was the hero with Uganda Cranes winger Brian Majwega missed a penalty for KCC FC.
The win boosted Entebbe’s battle to survive relegation. They however remain in the drop zone in 13th position.
KCC remained third on 41 points, four behind leaders Vipers although with two games in hand.
At Nakivubo stadium, Bright Stars took the lead though Hassan Kikoyo in the first half but Proline changed tactics and played their usual short and crisp passing game which put their opponents under pressure. Hood Kawere netted the equalizer. Bright Stars were saved in the dying seconds of the game as the ball hit the post.
Proline hang in relegation on 17 points after 23 rounds of play, while Bright Stars who are certain of top flight football next season, remain 10th with 25 points.
The returns on Friday with several games oncard.
