Kampala Capital City Authority FC midfielder Micheal Birungi says his side is determined to bounce back from their CAF Champions League exit and end the season on a high returning to the continent.
The Lugogo side failed to progress to the next round of the continental competition when they went down Zambian Champions Nkana Red Devils in the preliminaries amonth back.
“The game against Nkana was quite tough but we were optimistic about our chances of retaining the league,” Birungi tells Red Pepper Online Friday morning.
“In the end, we wasted our opportunities and they were more clinical though in the league it’s a different ball game.
“It was a sour ending but we have to bounce back and focus on the games that we still have to play.
“We’ll try to get as many points as possible in the league and also continue with our run in the Uganda Cup.”
George Nsimbe’s side will take on army side Simba in the rescheduled FUFA Super League tie will take them straingth to the summit of the log today, while they have been drawn against Big League side Lweza in the quarterfinals of the Uganda Cup.
Simba coached by suspended Fred Kajoba were victors in the first round away leg with a 1-0 win and look to repeat their heroics at home later today.
“The focus is on the upcoming league matches but it’s true that we are all looking forward to facing Chiefs in the cup.
