Six Students Declared Dead In Fatal Car Accident

Accidents in Uganda have been very rampant

Two students of Rwakatenda Secondary school in Bumbaire sub county, Bushenyi District died on spot while 4 others died as they were being rushed to hospital following an accident that occurred yesterday evening at Nyakabirizi, a few kilometers from Bushenyi town.

The students were reportedly walking back to school from Nyakabirizi playground where they had just emerged the district winners of the post primary soccer competitions after overcoming Bishop Ogez secondary school in the finals.

According to eye witnesses, the students were knocked down by a lorry registration number UAM 284T which was carrying sand.

Alfred Byamugisha, the OC traffic Bushenyi district attributed the accident to over speeding by the lorry driver identified as Kyakabale Moses.

Police identified the deceased as Nuwaha Clinton, Robert Mugabi, Nuwayesiga Raymond, Aruho and Apollo.

  1. Very sad story; some of these drivers; I am sure that they are drunk maniacs and can’t drive; lock them up and throw away the keys !!!!!!!
