Former East and Central Africa champion Hamuza “The Templer” Sempewo will on Saturday, March 29 step into the ring to contest for the National Super-Lightwelter weight title. Sempewo who who claimed the regional title in 2009 will take on two=time African Boxing Union contender Kidega Dragon for the 12 round title fight at Dance Flow Nateete.
Speaking in Kampala to Red Pepper Online Sport Sempewo says, “Returning to the ring after such a long spell is special. Being a national fight makes it even more interesting. I have trained enough and my body is ready for the fight.”
Kidega 9(6KOs)-3-3 was meant to challenge Hakim Waibale but the fight was cancelled after organisers failed to raise resources for the fight. The fight, organised by NARA promotion, will be curtain raised by seven undercard fights.
These will include; Nicolas Buule who will be entertaining Mathias Bulega in the heavy weight contest, Mudde Ntambi against Musa Mugisha in the middle weight category while Suuna Wilberforce will be taking on Frank Kiwalabye in the light heavy category.
