There was drama in St Paul’s Church of Uganda in Ibanda town council on Sunday after a drunken man stormed the church to block the baptism of his son.
Denis Atwine, a resident of Kitwe cell stormed the church at around 10:00m while using vulgar language, which disrupted the service.
He accused his wife of organizing the baptism and appointing God parents for his son without consulting him. Atwine also said he was planning to baptize his son in his faith not that of his mother.
As a result, the church warden notifiedIgnatiusOtong , the Ibanda District Police Commander who immediately swung into action and picked up Atwine. Following the eviction of Atwine from the church Reverend Abel Twinamatsiko proceeded with the service and baptized the child.
