Kenyan Premier League [KPL] defending champions Gor Mahia’s Ugandan dynamic duo of Dan Sserunkuma and Geoffrey Kizito scored twice Thursday evening to see off Nairobi City Stars 2-0 in the season opener played on Thursday 20 February 2014 the City Stadium.
Sserunkuma struck in the seventh minute to hand Gor the much deserved lea at the break,despite chaos that rocked the stadium moments before kickoff, while country mate Geoffrey Kizito added the second in the 65th minute.
The game also saw two other Ugandan players Lawrence Kasadha and George Abege both formerly with SC Victoria University in the FSL make their debuts for City Stars.
