DMark Kobs Crowned Super 8 Rugby Champions

kobsDMark Kobs were on over the weekend crowned Nile Special Super 8 Rugby Premiership champions after a14-13 victory, a first at Kyadondo against rivals MTN Heathens in five years.

Kobs had almost squandered a game they dominated when prop Asuman Mugerwa scored a late try underneath the posts with Philip Wokorach converting.

Replacement scrumhalf Adrian Kasito’s penalty ensured that the better team on the day, Kobs, won here, two years after their 14-13 victory in the Uganda Cup final through a Joseph Aredo kick.

In the other games played, Isaac Rugamba was voted man of the match as G4S Pirates eased their relegation worries with that narrow 20 – 16 triump at the hands of Mutoni Warriors while Toyota Buffaloes had earlier whipped the Ezee Money Rhinos 34 – 15 in the first fixture of the day played at Kyadondo.
