The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has yet to receive bids for the Championship beyond the next tournament in 2016 which will be hosted by Rwanda.

The deadline for hosting bids for 2018 and 2022 was 31 December 2013 but it has since been extended after no bids were received.

FIFA has given the idea its backing by grading it such that the points received by teams at the tournament will count towards the world rankings.
