Young Africans Football Club, the Tanzania league champions, are in talks to sign ex-Uganda Cranes coach Bobby Williamson.

The Scot, who was sacked by Uganda in May last year, but went on to win the league title with Gor Mahia FC in Kenya, has also admitted talks are ongoing.

“Let us see what will happen,” Williamson told sources when reached for comment.

Young Africans, who will represent Tanzania in the CAF Champions League, sacked their coach Ernie Brandts two weeks ago after losing to arch-rivals Simba FC in a friendly match.

Gor Mahia chairman, Ambrose Rachier, has also confirmed that Young Africans FC have reached out to him regarding the prospective release of Williamson.

“If Williamson decides to leave, there is little we can do to stop him. I will talk to him and if he wants to go, then I will tell the administration of the Tanzanian side know what they are supposed to do in order to pay us off,” said Rachier.
