Unknown Armed gun men on Saturday shot dead a female lecturer who was part of the Somalia national university department of economics.
Ahmed muhudeyn one of the students at the university who was at the scene at the time of the incident confirmed to Somali media, the death of the lecturer.
The Ugandan lecturer who was only identified as Leila was rushed to the Somali national university hospital branch but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
According to eye witnesses, Leila was killed by armed gun men as she left University of Somalia, where she had finished giving a lecture. The gunmen were said to be driving a white salon car.
There are several foreign teachers who teach in various higher learning institutions in conflict hit horn of African nation.
The motive behind the killing is still unclear.
Uganda is the biggest contributor to the AU force of about 18,000 under the Africa Mission for Somalia (AMISOM) whose mandate is to restore peace in the nation.
The force, funded mainly by the United Nations (UN) and European Union (EU) is fighting the al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabab group in Somalia.
