DMark Kobs’ team captain Brian Odong believes this is their chance to maintain sole leadership comfortable 19-10 victory as Kobs kept their perfect start to open up a five-point lead at the summit over Heathens (24) at Legends Rugby Club on Saturday in the 2013/2014 Nile Special Premier Rugby League first round fixture.

rugbyKobs dominated soon after a minute’s silence to honour the late South African president Nelson Mandela, who passed on Thursday with Justin Kimono giving them an early 5-0 lead courtesy of a try in the first minute of the first half.

Benon Kizza scored a penalty for Heathens to cut the lead to 5-3 and most of the first half which was played in the visitors’ half with Scot Olouch scoring a try for a 12-3 halftime lead.

In the second half, James Ijongat converted a try for Kobs to stretch the lead to 19-3 before Heathens fought back and replied with a try by Allan Otim plus a penalty and conversion by Ochan to end the score 19-11.

Elsewhere, Ezee Money Warriors suffered yet another upset falling 16-10 to Toyota Buffaloes and Lira Bulls continued their elusive search for a Super 8 win being thumped 41-10 at the House of pain by Entebe Mongers.
