Red Pepper Publication’s much traveled Samuel Kayondo has been retained as an Assistant Referee by the world’s football governing body FIFA.

A list of Ugandan referees approved by FIFA for 2014  had Uganda’s slots for center referees cut from five to three while that of the assistant referees was also cut from seven to five with Ali Kalyango and Ronnie Kalema alarmingly missing though  expected to make it back on the list after fulfilling some technical requirements.

“The federation has received the approved list of referees and assistant referees from Uganda for the FIFA list for 2014 and shall be legible to officiate official international matches,” read the release signed by the federation chief executive officer Edgar Watson.

Center referees Alex Muhabi Nsilumbi and Mashood Ssali come in to replace Alex Muhabi Nsilumbi and Mashood Ssali, Fred Mufta, Ali Kalyango and Ronnie Kalema while only Kayondo, Musa Balikowa, Mark Ssonko, Lee Okello and and Hussein Bugembe were approved as assistants.
