Kabugo was victim of Rwandan Meddie Kagere’s moment of madness when the forward kicked the defender in the knees as the referee blew the final whistle. The Somali referee, Wiish Yabarow, however missed the incident.
The Ugandan was later stretched off the pitch to the change rooms, where Cranes doctor Ronald Kisolo administered an injection on him.
“It is a worry but we wait for what the doctor will say,” said Kefa Kisala, Cranes assistant coach. Sports Club Victoria University’s Martin Mpuuga is favourite to partner Ronald Kasagga in case Kabugo fails to recover in time.
