High-flying Uganda Ranked 14th In The World

She CranesAfter winning the Six Nations Netball tournament in Singapore last week, Uganda’s national team, She Cranes, have been highly ranked in the latest ranking list, released by the world netball body INF, put Uganda with 69 points at number 14.

The win has resulted in Uganda’s first international ranking ever – leaping straight into the INF World Rankings at number 14. Other ranked African countries are Malawi (136 points)5th,  South Africa (133) 6th, Tanzania (17), Papua New Guinea (18), Botswana (19), and Zambia (21).

Despite financial constraints and arriving late in Singapore, She Cranes beat the hosts 52-29 in the final to win the tournament that also attracted Sri Lanka, Papua New Guinea, USA and Ireland a maiden appearance outside Africa since he World Cup in Trinidad and Tobago in 1979.
