More than 3000 Gulu University students have missed their end of semester morning examination papers following a strike by lecturers over accumulated allowances.
The lecturers laid down their tools this morning to coincide with the start of the end of semester examinations.
Andrew Ogwette Otto, a law student said that most of the students cleared all the requirements to sit their end of semester examinations.
He however, said that they were shocked when they reported early this morning to sit their examinations only to find lecturers on strike.
Information obtained by our reporter shows that the lecturers demand extra load allowances for two semesters.
By the time of filing this story Lecturers under their Umbrella body Gulu University Academic Staff Association were locked up in a meeting with management.
Dr. Charles Amone, the chairperson Gulu University Academic Staff Association said that the meeting is expected to review the position of the academic staff on the issues of extra-load payment and first semester examinations.
