Sudan vs Rwanda, 2pm
Uganda vs Eritrea, 4pm
Ethiopia 3-1 Zanzibar
S. Sudan 1-3 Kenya
Cranes striker Emmanuel Okwi islooking forward to help Uganda Cranes capture their second victory and fly to the last eight in this year’s Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup as they face Eritrea in a Group B match on Monday at City Stars Stadium in Nairobi.
The defending champions are currently second in Group C with three points and level with leaders Sudan though with a lesser goal difference, following their 1-0 victory over Rwanda, and Eritrea at the bottom of the group.
Okwi missed the first game through knee injury and malaria is likely to return after training well on Sunday and central defender Savio Kabugo could also retain his slot who was stretchered off on Thursday after Rwandan Meddie Kagere kicked him in knees. Both were passed fit by Cranes doctor Ronald Kisolo.
Cranes Coach Mulitin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic is not expected to make much changes from the squad that faced Rwanda at the Nyayo.
However the slight change could see Yanga SC’s Deigo Hamis Kiiza giving way for skipper Okwi to partner with Gor Mahia star Daniel Sserunkuma in attack.
Sserunkuma scored his first competitive Cranes goal after his strike downed Rwanda but however, refused to be drawn into predictions over whether Uganda can defend their 13th title.
