Uganda Names 3 Pros In CECAFA Squad

Uganda have drafted Kenya Premier League stars Dan Sserunkuma and Khalid Awucho in their 20-man 2013 GOtv Cecafa Cecafa Cup team.

The 2013 Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup will be held in Kenya from November 27 to December 12. Uganda Cranes Coach Mulitin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic added Khalid, Dan and Hamis ‘Diego’ Kiiza who turn out for Tusker FC, Gor Mahia FC  and Yanga SC respectively to cover loopholes in the majorly local based squads for the tourney in preparation for the 2014 Chan finals in South Africa.

Geoffrey ‘Baba’ Kizito whose last competitive game came against Senegal in September. He is currently a free agent after his professional stint in Vietnam came to an end.Cranes are the defending champions and will be chasing an unprecedented 14th title when the competition kicks off next week.
Ex-Cranes Coach Robert ‘Bobby’ Williamson won the Cecafa title four times in the last five years he was in-charge of the team.

Cranes are in pool C alongside Rwanda, Sudan and Eritrea and kick start their title defence against neighbours Rwanda on Friday 29.
