Ssekandi In Colombo For CHOGM
Ugandan Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi has arrived in the Sri Lankan capital Colombo for this year’s Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

The Vice President is representing President Museveni at this year’s biennial summit meeting of the heads of government from all Commonwealth nations.
The Vice President is accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon. Sam Kutesa and was received by the Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Uganda Kana V. Kananathan.
Every two years the meeting is held in a different member state, with Sri Lanka hosting the summit this year and with President Percy Mahendra Mahinda Rajapaksa, the Commonwealth Chairperson in Office.
Queen Elizabeth II, who is the Head of the Commonwealth, has attended every CHOGM beginning with Ottawa in 1973, although her formal participation only began in 1997.
However, she will be represented by the Prince of Wales Charles at this year’s meeting as the 87-year-old monarch is curtailing her overseas travel.
Kananathan came as an economic refugee and he is now a High Commissioner for his country in Uganda thanks to the AGOA baby sitting
