Nemostars Turn Focus To Africa

National volleyball champions Nemostars Volleyball Club will now turn focus to preparations for the Africa Club Championship scheduled for next year as the major tournament after being crowned National Volleyball League for a second successive year.

The Africa Club Championship is slotted to take in March 2014 in the Algerian city of Algiers

Coach Anthony Ndawula’s managed to edge sworn enemies KAVC in Game Three 3-2 and swept the best of five final series 3-0 at MTN Arena Lugogo on Saturday.

Nemostars claimed the opening two sets 25-21, 25-16 before KAVC pulled back third and fourth set 27-25, 25-21, forcing a tie breaker that was claimed by Nemo 17-15.

The side that also won the National Club Championship crown in September for the first after a narrow victory over 12-time record winners KAVC.

The elated Nemostars captain George Aporu praised his colleagues for the success after the match.

“This is one of the greatest years of my career and I thank all my teammates and the whole Nemo family for such a job well done,” Aporu remarked.

“Our next mission is to work harder and post a better performance in Africa,” he added.
