Mawejje Pens 2 Year Haugesund Deal

Uganda Cranes player Tony Mawejje has this morning revealed that he has signed a two year deal with Norwegian top Division side FK Haugesund. Mawejje confirmed to us on phone that he is very happy his agent and former Club IBV in Iceland made the move possible.

MawejjeThe former KCCA FC midfielder was a key figure in the Cranes team during the 2014 World Cup qualifier where they got edged out by Senegal to make the play-offs.

The player said this development is good in his football career because he now has the chance to feature in big competitions in Europe like the Champions League and Europa Cup. Although he did not want to reveal the financial details of the move, he said it is far better than what he was earning in Iceland.

The Cranes squad’s man was early this month impressive when he attended trials with the club. He said he will join the team in January. The team finished third behind champions, Stromsgodset and second-placed Rosenborg last season.

Nigeria’s Ugonna Anyora and Umaru Bangura (Sierra Leone) are the other two African players featuring for the FK Haugesund team.
