GOtv CECAFA: Uganda Leading Rwanda

It is not a secret that the Uganda and Rwanda national football teams are not lethal in front of goal. As a matter of fact, the GOtv CECAFA Senior Challenge game pitting defending champions Uganda Cranes against Rwanda on Friday 29 November is differentiated by Dan Sserunkuma’s solitary goal in the 88th minute from a sub Said Kyeyune assist.

MpandeThe Group C game at the Nyayo National Stadium was initially supposed to proceed the Sudan versus Eritrea match at Machakos Stadium as earlier communicated but was shifted to Nairobi due to the heavy rain in the Machakos area that would have rendered the pitch soggy.

Rwanda remain the better side of the half controlling the midfield with Jean Iranzi and Haruna Niyonzima winning more balls from Baba Kizito and Khalid Awucho while Hamis Kiiza, Dan Sserunkuma and Meddie Kagere with Jacques Tuyisenge on the opposite front are yet to find thier footing.

In essence bragging rights will be out for grabs but most importantly, either country would prefer to win the first game of the tournament to gain momentum as they head into the second game of the tournament where a second positive result can see the on-form side place one leg in the quarterfinals if not book berth.
