Operators of a Kampala cinema apologised Friday for failure to premiere THOR: The Underworld on Thursday, November 7 as anticipated.
With a massive invite-only turnout that included journalists and socialites, there was an unfortunate technical hitch that not only affected The Hub Cineplex Cinema at Oasis Mall but a number of sites in East and West Africa.
Due to multiple sites releasing at the same time the massive demand globally for the movie meant that technical support was overwhelmed with the number of requests and were unable to resolve the matter in time for the scheduled screening.
The management of The Hub theatre apologised in a statement seen by RedPepper Online edition, saying it was sorry to key sponsors Pepsi and all the guests who were extremely patient and understanding about the situation. They noted that to make up for shortcoming all invited guests are given a complimentary invite for two to watch THOR in 3D anytime they deem convenient this month of November.
