As the party leadership ponders the next move, demonstrations have already broken out as kangwagye’s supporters protest the approval of Nathan Byanyima as the NRM Flag Bearer.

They stormed the party headquarters in Kabingo Trading Centre last evening demanding an official explanation as to why their candidate was denied victory yet he led in all the sub counties except two.

Isingiro district NRM Chairman Major Steven Rwakanuuma accuses Professor Elijah Mushemeza, the vice chairman of the party’s electoral commission for overturned the results and announcing a candidate with lesser votes.

He maintains that the outcome of the exercise was null and void and adds that the party does not have an official candidate in the race.
