The long-running Hassan Wasswa Mawanda transfer saga took a fresh twist on Wednesday evening after it emerged that Kampala City Capital Authority (KCCA FC) are considering Asking for  US$50,000 from Vietnam League side Don Nai FC.

The 27-year-old has been expected to join South African League for much of the last season but RedPepper Online edition now understands that the Lugogo club insist he is still their player and cannot join any club unless he is cleared.

Allan Ssewanyana, the KCCA FC Vice Chairman and Acting spokesman told sources on Wednesday that there is no way the player can make a move.

“Transfers of players are made in a systematic manner and not simply walking away from one club to another,” said Ssewanyana.

“We are ready to let him join a club of his choice if any club comes and pays that amount of money,” he said.

Wasswa who signed as a KCCA FC player late last season for two years formerly featured for Turkish side Erciyesspor FC.
