The Kabale based club failed to honour their first game in Uganda’s second tier league and later asked to relocate to their home ground to Kampala though the FA refused to grant the request.

A statement signed by the acting Competitions Director confirmed KGS would be out of action.

“The FUFA Competitions Committee has received instruction from the FUFA CEO to de- register Kigezi Good Samaritan Football Club from the FUFA Big League.”

This follows communication from the President KGS FC Mr. Herbert Kabafunzaki to the FUFA President ref: KGSFC/FUFA/01/2013 that stated, inter-alia, the club is undergoing serious restructuring designed to make it more professional and effective; the restructuring process made it difficult to participate in the ongoing (FUFA) Big League for which it had qualified”.

Therefore Kigezi Good Samaritan Football Club is henceforth deregistered from the FUFA Big League and any other competition in FUFA league regime until further notice.

Consequently all fixtures involving Kigezi Good Samaritan are cancelled. Further guidance will be given tomorrow at the FUFA weekly press conference.

KGS is 8th on the Elgon group of the FBL with three points from one game played so far.

  1. Kigezi Good Samaritan, just like other clubs in Uganda, needs good samaritans to stand on its economic feet
