The people of Buhweju district in western Uganda are today voting for their Woman Member of Parliament.
The seat fell vacant after the death of Joy Arinaitwe Kariisa, the NRM legislator who succumbed to cancer last month.
The ruling NRM’s Oliver Koyekyenga is tussling it out with opposition party FDC’s Jane frida Bwiruka. Alison Byamukama who was fronted by six of the candidates who lost in the NRM primaries recently pulled out of the race in favor of Oliver.
An expected number of 44,118 voters are to cast their ballot in the Buhweju polls.
