Soana upset defending champions KCCA FC 2-1 last Friday in a match played at the Lugogo Stadium.

An own goal by Peter Ssenyonjo after a Richard Malinga shot gave the home side the lead before Francis Olaki equalized for Soana FC in the 37th minute. Olaki should have made it 2-1 four minutes later but he blasted the penalty kick off target.

But the youngster, a brother to Cranes striker Emmanuel Okwi, made amends with two minutes to half time when he capitalized on a defensive mix-up to score his second of the day. Olaki now has five goals from the three league matches the club has played.

Makumbi said he has told his players to take every game very seriously like a final.

“That explains why my players are always very hungry and will fight till the end,” explained the former international.

The coach also explained that they have put in place a system of bonuses for a win.

“We are happy with the way management of the team is handling matters and we shall continue to perform,” added Makumbi, whose team is top of the table with nine points from three games.
