Former Police FC forward Meddie Kagere this could be the season he finally lives up to expectations.

The Uganda born striker striker has made a move to Rayon Sport FC who will represent Rwanda in the 2014 CAF Orange Champions League.

“I have signed for Rayon because I think I will do what it takes to help the club and myself perform well at the international level next year,” said the striker.

The forward moved to the Rwanda League five years ago and changed nationality to feature for the Rwanda national side, Amavubi. He was a hit at the 2011 Cecafa Tusker Senior Challenge Cup in Tanzania when he helped Rwanda reach the final against eventual winners Uganda.

The striker left Police FC in Rwanda to join Esperance Sportive de Zarsis in February this year for a reported US$150,000, but returned after his contract in Tunisia was terminated after the team filed for bankruptcy and rejoined Police FC. Before heading to Tunisia, Kagere featured for Atraco, Mukura and Police FC.

The Rwandan international three seasons at Police FC, scoring 38 league goals and was also the national team’s top scorer with three goals in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

Kagere will be available for selection when the Rwanda Turbo Football League kicks off on September 28. Rayon Sport will host newly promoted Gicumbi FC.
