Ulinzi 2:2 UPDF
Simba SC representing the Uganda Peoples Defence Force (UPDF) in the East Africa Military Games was forced to a 2-2 draw on Wednesday by Kenyan hosts Ulinzi Stars in the opener at the MISC Kasarani.
Uganda Cranes midfielder Musa Mudde a former Sofapaka FC (Kenya) player opened the scoring for Uganda in the sixth minute after which Ulinzi attempted a comeback through an Amwayi shot that went inches wide.
The Bombo based side stretched the lead in the 26th from the spot through Sulaiman Ssebunza as the Ulinzi struggled in their own backyard but they would soon get their footing in the match in a match watched by their Commander In-Chief President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The Tusker Premier League side equalized seven minutes later and added a second just before halftime to level the scores.
UPDF teams in Football, Handball, Basketball, Athletics and Netball face opponents from Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania and Burundi in the regional military games that started 5th till 17th August 2013.
The team was officially flagged off on August 3 at Mbuya Military Barracks, a suburb off the Kampala City.
