Uganda Cranes coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has said he has lots of belief in his players ahead of tomorrow’s 2014 CHAN qualifier against Tanzania at the National Stadium.
The coach told the media at the Sapphire Court Hotel in Dar-es-Salaam that although they are facing a strong Taifa Stars side, he trusts his boys to deliver.
The Cranes team that arrived in the Tanzanian capital Dar es Salaam yesterday had light training at the artificial turf of Karume Stadium.
The confident coach said though the players had trained well, they were yet to raise their tactical awareness and he was working on that aspect with them.
Micho said although many nations underrate the CHAN tournament, he is taking it very seriously because it will help him build his team for the 2015 AFCON qualifiers.
Micho described the tournament as a stepping stone for the 2015 AFCON because qualifying for the CHAN Edition in South Africa will help him build a formidable side around many local based players.
Team skipper Hassan Mawanda Wasswa also said although Uganda has always beaten Tanzania over the years, they will not underrate their opponents. He said this was crucial because they were taking on the Tanzanians on their home turf.
