Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta is in Uganda on a three-day state visit. He is expected to attend an Infrastructure Investment Summit. He arrived Monday afternoon.
President Uhuru together with his host Uganda’s President Museveni are expected to discuss among other issues, bilateral trade and regional security . It is Uhuru’s first visit to Uganda as Kenyan President.
The Summit is held amid a sharp rise in infrastructure spending as the East African Community governments seek to tame spiraling business costs and concerns over huge projects that have lagged behind schedule.
The Kenyan President is expected to be joined by Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame and on Tuesday morning, the three leaders will hold a joint press conference at State House Entebbe, according to Uganda Media Centre.
President Uhuru is accompanied by Cabinet Secretaries Amina Mohamed, Eng. Michael Kamau and Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.
