Uganda has stipulated shs 7.7bn in the 2013/2014 budget to provide contraceptives to women who require them, the junior Finance Minister Matia Kasaija has said.
speaking at the just concluded concluded 2013 Global Women deliver Conference in Kuala-lumpur, Malaysia Kasaija said the allocation was the fulfillment of a promise made by President Museveni at the London summit on Family planning., last July.
Kasaija said that government would also work on the acute human resource shortage to help women in rural areas. he said they would consider involving men in family planning.
Kasaija also promised that government would explain away women’s fears related to contraceptives.
