The newly appointed Chief of Defence Force (CDF) Gen Katumba Wamala has announced that the forces operating from Central African Republic (CAR) are not about to withdraw.
Gen katumba revealed this last week at 4th division barracks Gulu during the handover ceremony of Maj. Gen . Wilson Mbadi to Col. Emmanuel Kanyeigye. Mbadi, who has been the 4th division commander was appointed the UPDF’s Joint Chief of Staff .
“we are in Central Africa Republic to hunt for Joseph Kony and it is a mandate acknowledged by the African Union,” Katumba said. “Our mission in CAR shall not be tempered with and we shall not withdraw unless the objective we are pursuing is realized.”
He however noted that they are also trying to pursue diplomatic measures to reach a mutual agreement of the operation with Central Africa authorities. He called upon the people of Northern Uganda to start farming since the sound of guns has gone into silence.
