Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa has promised to help Uganda to develop its cricketing talents, the President’s Media Unit announced.
Rajapaksa, who is currently touring Uganda on a four day visit made this promise on Monday when he met a group of young Ugandan Cricketers.
He has said that Sri Lanka will deploy its cricketing veterans to help develop the game of cricket in the African nation.
Uganda is an associate member of the ICC however, it is yet to appear in a World Cup tournament.
President Rajapaksa also handed over cricket uniforms to the Ugandan junior cricketers when he met them yesterday.
