PHOTOS: M7 In ‘Paint Jinja City Bright’ Campaign


Uganda’s president Yoweri Museveni on Saturday afternoon showed that political leadership is not all about juggling political cards but getting to the ground and actually participating when he took part in a campaign to paint Jinja city bright.


The President was in Jinja for the closing ceremony of “Painting Jinja” at the Source of the Nile. The initiative to paint Jinja is to attract tourists. The practice to paint tourist cities is common in Sweden.


In collaboration with eleven cities of Sweden, several buildings in Jinja have been painted for the last two weeks. As the team that went to draw water from the mouth of the source of the Nile sail back.


Rachael Magoola of Afrigo band entertained the guests earlier.


The last time President Museveni visited Busoga region (three weeks ago), he donated a sack full of Shs250m to the Busoga youth foundation and his visit on Saturday has got many asking what the president’s interest is in the region.
