Kamuli Boss Disappears On the way to Rwakitura

Gerald Kibeyo, the LC 3 chairperson of Bulopa Sub County in Kamuli district is missing.

Gerald Kibeyo, the LC 3 chairperson of Bulopa Sub County in Kamuli district has gone missing. Kibeyo disappeared on March 22 after he was allegedly admitted at Masaka regional referral hospital. Christopher Alimwigiza, the LC 3 chairperson Bugulumbya Sub County explains that on the fateful day they were traveling with Kibeyo for a meeting at President Yoweri Museveni’s home in Rwakitura. He says that they stopped at Hotel Brovado to have lunch but Kibeyo started vomiting and sweating forcing him to rush him to Masaka Referral hospital, where he was admitted.

Kibeyo has not been seen again since he was admitted at the hospital. As a result, Ali Waiswa, the brother to Kibeyo has petitioned police to investigate his whereabouts. The decision follows the failure by the administration of Masaka Regional Referral Hospital to explain the whereabouts of Kibeyo. Harriet Kisakye, the wife to Kibeyo explains that her husband left home alone after the vehicle hired to take the LC III chairpersons to Rwakitura left him.

Kisakye says that Kibeyo ran out of cash when he arrived in Kampala but his two sons gave him 20,000 shillings which he used to travel to Masaka and catch up with his colleagues at Masaka State lodge.
She says that since then, she has not heard from her husband. Jackson Asiimwe, the Kamuli Resident District Commissioner says that information reaching his office shows that Kibeyo didn’t reach Rwakitura. The administration of Masaka Regional Hospital has not yet commented as our reporter couldn’t reach the officials there.
